Abe White was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He learned to play the saxophone as a student at Burke High School, and one year after graduation, he joined the
US Air Force.

Over a twenty year period, Abe traveled extensively entertaining fans around the world: four years in South Texas, four years in Denver, Colorado, two years in San Bernardino, California, two years in and around Charleston, South Carolina, one year in Thailand and one year in North Florida...... a LOT of bars!

After the service, he entered a phase which he calls "playing to succeed" by enrolling as a music major student at the Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Florida for two years, then transferring to the College of Charleston to be at home. This atmosphere afforded him wider audiences through major level concerts and other venues, and gave focus to a long-time objective which is to define his feelings about his home through songs, and in so doing, celebrate "THAT GEECHEE CHARM."

ABE WHITE has been a perennial performer with the Spoleto, Moja, North Charleston Arts Festival, and other festivals in and around the Charleston area as the leader of the group "THE ABE WHITE AFFAIR."

For the past 8 or 9 years, Abe has been performing as a solo act in restaurants in and around Charleston such as LJ's, Satchmo's, Gullah Cuisine, Savannah's, Diana's, Porgy's, Station 22 on Sullivan's Island where he is currently appearing Thursdays thru Saturdays, from 7 to 10 pm, and Queen Anne's Retreat on Daniel Island where he is doing a Brunch gig every Sunday, noon 'til 2 pm.
