After graduating from Burke High School in Charleston, South Carolina, ABE WHITE enlisted in the United States Air Force, retiring after twenty years (and four days) as a Technical Sergeant.  While still in the Air Force and stationed at The Charleston Air Force Base, ABE formed the band, "THE PORT CITY ALLSTARS" which was a mainstay at "ANN'S LOUNGE", 'THE JAMES HOTEL", "GILLIARD AUDITORIUM" and various other venues in and around Charleston.  That lasted until he was reassigned to Thailand..  After Thailand, ABE was assigned to Eglin Air Force Base near Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where he retired..  ABE then  enrolled at The Pensacola Junior College for two years after which he moved back to Charleston and enrolled at the College of Charleston for about two years before dropping out of college to go to work at THE SOUTHERN BELL TELEPHONE CO,  where he stayed for five years.  In the meantime, ABE formed a new band called 'THE ABE WHITE AFFAIR" with a lot of success in clubs, PICCOLO and SPOLETO festivals and other venues in and around Charleston.

In 2019 ABE was inducted into the Lowcountry Music Hall of Fame.

Currently, ABE is performing mostly as a duo (piano and sax) at restaurants of the HALLS MANAGEMENT GROUP, "HALLS CHOPHOUSE" and 'HIGH COTTON" in downtown Charleston.
